Ian Harris
Ian commenced his working life with the Royal Marines and then moved across as an Engineering Artificer in the Royal Navy, before completing additional Engineering training at college in Newcastle sponsored by the prestigious P&O training program. This started a 16 year commercial shipping career with Nedlloyd and Maersk and saw him become Chief Engineer on the largest container ships afloat.
Moving then to the Oil and Gas sector Ian developed his project management skills as Chief Engineer on Semi Submersibles in the North Sea and spent time as Engineering Manager for several significant new build projects whilst living in Korea for five years.
Finally, moving to the luxury yachting sector some eight years ago, and after further training to become a Chartered Engineer (inc. exceptional notation as a Chartered Chief Marine Engineer) Ian has managed, refit and further operated many of the world’s most significant yachts through several management companies and Family Offices before setting up this his own organisation.
Ian’s dedication to his job, meticulous approach, and exceptional management skills have positioned him at the forefront of the marine industry. His collaborative style and extensive expertise distinguish him as a highly respected professional within the field, fostering admiration for his contributions and accomplishments.
Yousuf Al Hashimi
Since establishing his first business in 2008, Yousuf Al Hashimi’s entrepreneurial journey has been intricately woven with his profound passion for sports, events, and the maritime world. As the co-founder and owner of Ahdaaf Sports, he has made significant contributions to the sports and events industry in the United Arab Emirates.
Yousuf’s international education starting with Political Science in Montreal, Canada, coupled with three years of dedicated service in the Vice Presidents Office for Political Affairs, has profoundly shaped his mindset into one that is not just dynamic and forward-thinking, but also deeply inspired and driven.
Over the years, Yousuf’s business acumen has led him to continually expand his portfolio, venturing into new sectors and exploring innovative opportunities. His passion for maritime activities and father’s legacy in shipyard maintenance, repair, and overhaul have played a pivotal role in his recent partnership with PHOENIX Yachts, marking another chapter in his journey.
Yousuf, a Master Scuba Diver and a participant in globally renowned sailing regattas like Cowes Week has engrained a deep love for the oceans, taking him to some of the world’s most beautiful and captivating destinations.
Compliance
International Safety Management (ISM) / International Ship & Port Security (ISPS) / Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC) – PHOENIX complies with these codes of practice for yachts operating on a worldwide basis, including the auditing and administration of safety, security and maritime employment processes for safe and trouble free operations, together with ensuring yacht compliance with relevant national and international statutory regulations. To support this statement PHOENIX holds a Document of Compliance (DOC) from the Cayman Islands.
These Codes of Practice are mandatory for commercial yachts, nevertheless PHOENIX recommends the implementation of safety management irrespective of the yacht’s operation or size.

- Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO)
- Qualified 24/7 emergency response
