H2 Yacht Design
Founded in 1994 by Jonny Horsfield, H2 Yacht Design has emerged as a leading name in the superyacht design industry. Based in London, the firm offers comprehensive design services, from conceptual proposals to exterior and interior design, and even CAD drawings and on-site supervision. Horsfield, a Coventry University graduate, pivoted from car design to yachts and quickly found his passion. He and his team of senior consultants have accrued over 30 years of experience, being involved in more than 100 superyacht projects. Initially focusing on refits, the studio transitioned into new builds in 2005. The studio’s location gives it easy access to top-notch fabric and furniture houses, keeping it abreast of the latest design trends.
H2 Yacht Design is unique in that it doesn’t adhere to a single “house style.” Instead, the firm prides itself on its diverse portfolio, reflecting a broad range of design styles to cater to different client preferences. They have experience in multiple areas from exterior styling to interior architecture and even FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) design. The team’s diverse skill set is supported by a vast library of fabrics, finishes, and fittings, along with extensive project management capabilities. Their studio, located by the river in Putney, London, was specifically designed to foster creativity and inspiration. The open plan work spaces are filled with light, and the fabrics room is comprehensively stocked, allowing the team to generate imaginative color boards.
Among H2 Yacht Design’s notable projects, the 2014 Blohm + Voss 82-metre superyacht Graceful stands out as their largest launch to date, although an even larger 120-metre project is currently in the works. Other eminent projects include Proteksan superyachts Vicky and Talisman C, both massive in their own right at 72.6 and 70.5 metres respectively, and the interior design of the 73.8-metre Nobiskrug Odessa II. Each of these projects attests to H2 Yacht Design’s commitment to turning their clients’ dreams into reality, all while setting new standards for innovation and technical competence in the yachting world.
