RWD
Founded in 1993, Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) has cemented its reputation as one of the world’s foremost superyacht design studios. Located in a scenic design studio in Beaulieu on the English South Coast, RWD is a nexus of creativity and excellence, with a 60-strong team comprising a blend of architects, industrial designers, car designers, interior architects, and yacht designers. Over the past three decades, RWD has evolved into an epitome of understated elegance in the yachting industry, focusing on building close relationships with clients to deliver custom designs that echo their unique visions and aspirations. This commitment to the highest standards extends not only to their clientele but also to their in-house team of exceptional talents.
In terms of design philosophy, RWD embodies a mix of purity of line and beauty of form. Their ethos leans on an artistic, drawing-led approach, aiming to evoke character and emotion while ensuring that practicalities aren’t sacrificed. The studio takes the time to familiarize itself with each client’s unique desires, and its designs reflect years of knowledge and experience in working closely with shipyards to innovate and set new benchmarks in yachting luxury. The aesthetic of RWD can be best described as elegantly detailed and thoughtful, where each feature is given meticulous attention. Moreover, RWD’s designs also incorporate innovative techniques, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in yacht design while setting new standards for quality, craftsmanship, and luxury.
RWD’s portfolio boasts an array of remarkable superyachts that stand as testament to their design mastery. Recent works include the motor yachts Juice, Sherpa, and Podium, as well as the conversion of Ragnar. Their other custom yachts like Faith, Hasna, VAVA, Twizzle, Baton Rouge, Elfje, Ilona, and Hampshire have been turning heads in the yachting community. Of particular note is the Lürssen-built Al Said, which at 155 meters is RWD’s largest yacht project to date. They have also collaborated with Benetti to design the highly successful B.Now and Oasis series, with the B.Now range available in sizes from 50 to 72 meters and the Oasis in 34 or 40 meters. These collaborations and individual projects alike reflect RWD’s unyielding commitment to elevating the art of yacht design, ensuring that every venture they undertake sets new benchmarks in luxury, innovation, and craftsmanship.
