Benetti
Founded in the 19th century, Benetti is among the world’s most prestigious superyacht builders, tracing its lineage back to two ancient Italian shipyards: Fratelli Benetti in Viareggio (1873) and Fratelli Orlando in Livorno (1866). Initially, the yard specialized in constructing commercial vessels like fishing boats and trading ships. However, the founder’s descendants shifted gears towards ocean-going private yachts, quickly broadening their influence beyond the Mediterranean. Benetti has been a pioneer in the yacht industry, launching the first steel-hulled, diesel-powered vessel and eventually transitioning into the realm of luxury megayachts. Since the 1980s, under the aegis of the Azimut Group, which acquired the brand in 1985, Benetti has solidified its reputation as a premier builder of luxury yachts, winning the ‘Shipyard Number 1’ award from Showboats International Magazine numerous times.
Benetti’s design approach is richly varied, with yachts constructed in FRP, steel, and aluminum. The yard offers six distinct series, each tailored to different tastes and requirements. The Benetti Class line represents classic Mediterranean yachting, while the B.Yond series is designed for long-distance cruising in ultimate comfort. The B.Now series features custom designs, and the Oasis series brings the most contemporary design aesthetics. The B.Century yachts are the epitome of yachting excellence, offering a seamless blend of design and functionality. Lastly, the Custom family allows clients to build their dream yacht without limitations. A marriage of Italian craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology is their trademark. The company focuses on luxury, not through ostentation but through impeccable attention to detail, the use of high-quality materials, and understated elegance.
Benetti has a star-studded portfolio of world-renowned superyachts. The 86m KINGDOM 5KR, formerly known as NABILA, not only featured in the James Bond film “Never Say Never Again” but was also owned by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Another highlight is the LUMINOSITY, a 107.2m behemoth that is one of the largest yachts globally and features an eco-conscious hybrid propulsion system. To date, Benetti has produced 350 yachts, with the capacity to build up to 110m, and delivers an average of 13 yachts per year. Among their notable projects, the 108m IJE stands as the largest yacht built by Benetti. These achievements and their unrelenting focus on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction have cemented Benetti’s reputation as a leader in the superyacht industry.
