Hessen
Located in Oss, The Netherlands, Heesen Yachts has been a stalwart in the superyacht industry since its founding by Frans Heesen in 1978. Drawing from the Dutch tradition of maritime craftsmanship, the shipyard has been a pioneer in the utilization of aluminum alloys for yacht hulls. Their expansion into steel-hulled yachts in 1992, and the introduction of “Fast Displacement” superyachts in recent years, underscore the brand’s commitment to innovation and quality. With a portfolio that includes fully-engineered yachts for quick delivery, smart custom yachts balancing speed and personalization, and fully custom yachts that are the ultimate expression of a client’s vision, Heesen offers a range of options to satisfy diverse client needs. Their company motto encapsulates their ethos perfectly: “The performance of luxury.”
Heesen is renowned for their dedication to craftsmanship, quality, and cutting-edge technology. Their portfolio boasts three distinct build concepts: the ‘Series’ for quick delivery with limited customization, the ‘Smart Custom’ for a balance between delivery speed and personalization, and the ‘Full Custom’ for those who wish to start from a blank slate. Each option relies on proven engineering and the ‘Crafted in Holland’ hallmark of quality. Whether it’s aluminum or steel construction, Heesen employs meticulous attention to detail at every level of the build, resulting in superyachts that aren’t just luxurious, but also boast superior performance. This approach of blending traditional Dutch craftsmanship with modern build techniques and technology has put Heesen at the forefront of luxury yacht builders.
Among Heesen’s portfolio of eye-catching superyachts, several stand out for their innovation and excellence. The 50-metre superyacht Satori, delivered in 2011, was a marvel of contemporary design featuring exteriors by Omega Architects and interiors by Remi Tessier. Powered by twin MTU 16V 4000 M90 diesel engines, Satori boasted a cruising speed of 24 knots. The 65-metre Galactica Star, launched in 2013, went a step further by introducing a Fast Displacement hull that is 30% more fuel-efficient than traditional hulls, while still achieving a top speed of 28 knots and a range of 4,200 nautical miles. These yachts and many more like them have earned Heesen numerous awards and accolades over the years, living up to their promise of delivering unparalleled luxury and performance, always on time. With over 150 superyachts delivered in more than three decades, Heesen Yachts remains an industry leader, committed to exceeding the expectations of the most discerning clients.
