Royal Huisman

Originally started as a modest builder of wooden workboats established in 1884 by the Huisman family in Vollenhove, Netherlands, the shipyard has since metamorphosed into a globally recognised name in the realm of custom yacht construction. The Shipyard boasts a rich heritage that has spanned well over a century. Earning its “Royal” prefix in 1984, in honour of its centenary, the accolade is a testament to the shipyard’s unwavering commitment to quality and its invaluable contribution to the Dutch maritime industry.

Over the years, Royal Huisman has kept striving for innovation and excellence, symbolising its dedication to pushing the boundaries of yacht construction. Among its most notable achievements is the construction of the 58.4m schooner “Meteor” in 2007, which received numerous awards for its craftsmanship and design. Another significant project is the 90m sloop “Athena”, one of the largest sailing yachts globally when she was launched in 2004. The shipyard has continuously demonstrated an ability to harmoniously marry traditional shipbuilding techniques with modern technology, leading to recognition at prestigious yachting awards and events worldwide.
